Thomas Cook fury: Tourists in chaos as firm announces liquidation 'with immediate effect'
The news comes as last-ditch talks failed to save the company on Sunday night. The 178-year-old travel had until 11.59pm to secure funds to pay off creditors. In leaked images circulating online, a detention notice had already been posted on an aeroplane at Manchester Airport. This move will now leave close to 200,000 in chaos while 9,000 jobs are also up in the air.
