The jubilant celebrations that took place at the White House featured US singer Cyndi Lauper and non-binary UK singer Sam Smith performing in front of thousands of supporters on the White House lawn. "Marriage is a simple proposition. Who do you love? And will you be loyal to that person you love? It's not more complicated than that," Mr Biden said.
