A boxer in coastal South Australia receives a permanent visa, bringing him one step closer to achieving his goal of competing at the 2024 Olympics.

After being on a succession of temporary visas since he was teenager, he has now been given a permanent visa in recognition of his sporting achievement. His coach, Mark Netherford, said the permanent visa has given Mr Zziwa some "certainty about his future"."He's lived in Australia most of his adult life, he's a real big part of the community down in Victor Harbor.""We've got a few more hurdles to get through yet," he said.

Severe damage to ‘critical infrastructure’ has affected heavy vehicle operatorsNational Heavy Vehicle Regulator spokesman Steven Miller says there’s been “a lot of damage to critical infrastructure” from the recent flooding in Western Australia. “Very, very challenging for our long-haul heavy freight operators, and we’ve been doing what we can by putting temporary emergency routes in place to assist them,” he told Sky News Australia. The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator has also given notice until the 28th of February for heavy vehicle operators to use different routes to reach flood-affected areas to deliver critical supplies. “The temporary notice allows us to operate larger than normal road trains out of Western Australia and through South Australia up into the Northern Territory and northern Western Australia where these critical goods are needed for these impacted communities,” Mr Miller said.
