A Sydney father has been identified as the third person to win Powerball's $100 million jackpot.
The man initially bought one ticket and then a second at the last minute, which is what won him the $33.3 million. "I was so excited. I couldn't get up to tell my wife, so I had to text her multiple times that we had just won $33 million," he told the Lott.The man, from Canterbury, said he is going to take his wife on a holiday but hasn't thought about how else they will spend the money."It's amazing though because we know we'll be able to wind down our working lives a bit and help our kids have the best future possible.
The Sydney father, from Burwood, yelled to his wife "we can do whatever we want … we've just won the lottery" when he was contacted by officials."Are you f------ kidding me? Jesus Christ," he said."I am absolutely speechless. We only play from time to time. In fact, we play Powerball very rarely.The man said the win had "completely changed my family's life in the space of five minutes".
The winning numbers of draw 1389 on December 29 were 9, 26, 4, 23, 22, 6 and 24, and the Powerball was 18.
