This week’s events around Metro Vancouver include Studio 58\u0027s production of Blue Stockings, about a group of girls at Cambridge in 1896.

Hollywood Theatre, 3123 W. Broadway, VancouverFor The Garden, her most recent album, Basia Bulat rearranged some of her old songs for a string ensemble. The Montreal-based folk-pop singer/songwriter, originally from Etobicoke, is bringing the new arrangements and string musicians on the road with her to present the reworked versions of the material. “This is going to be a really special show of music from across all of my albums,” she says in a media release.

“Early and later songs transformed and evolved, with arrangements from the newest two albums that have been waiting for years to blossom on stage with a live band for the first time.” Bulat has released six studio albums since her 2007 debut, Oh, My Darling, including 2016’s Good Advice, which was shortlisted for a Polaris Music Prize. Saskatoon neo-soul singer Katie Tupper opens the evening with tracks from her 2022 EP Towards the End.
