We hate to disappoint, but when we can finally travel more freely again, it’s looking likely that our first post-lockdown weekend away will be a British one.
more freely again, it’s looking likely that our first post-lockdown weekend away will be a British one. Not least because airports seemdaunting right now. We’re guessing none of you listed little old England as your ideal four-day jaunt... but fear not. Britain canhold its own against the cosmopolitan European cities we’d usually opt for - if only you know where to stay. It boasts rolling countryside, fish and chips by the sea and abundance of pasties, after all.
In fact, within just a couple of hours from London, you’ll find miles upon miles of unspoilt coastline, as well as cute and quaint villages. There’s Cornwall, Devon and the beautiful coastline of the Gower Peninsula. Or how about a trip to the New Forest? Further afield - and more tempting in the autumn - are our beautiful cities. There’s Bath for the thermal spa or Brighton for the independent shops and fantastic array of restaurants .
