Some hopeful news out of Toronto this morning as Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander was on the ice for morning skate ahead of game 3 against the Boston Bruins .
Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe indicated that there is a chance that Nylander will play tonight.Nylander stuck around for extra work with projected scratches Noah Gregor and Martin Jones following the morning skate. It looks like William Nylander may be ready to return to the Leafs lineup: He’s skating on a regular line with Calle Järnkrok and Pontus Holmberg ahead of Game 3.The 27-year-old missed games 1 and 2 with an undisclosed injury but took part in the morning skate on Monday ahead of game 2. “We’ll see how he feels here the rest of the day here and make a decision,” Keefe said Monday morning.
The Maple Leafs lost game 1, 5-1 to Boston and it was evident that they were missing a key piece from their lineup. Toronto bounced back in game 2 with a 3-2 win, evening the series up at 1-1. Nylander played in all 82 regular-season games for Toronto, tallying 40 goals and 58 assists for 98 points.
