The movie, starring Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, is the next instalment in a path of live-action remakes from Disney including Aladdin, The Lion King and, most recently, The Little Mermaid. Zegler warned the public in an interview with ExtraTV in September last year, that the modern version of the story would be a different take."There's a big focus on her love story with a guy that literally stalks her ... weird, weird — so we aren't going to do that."
"It's funny to me that people seem to be upset that Snow White isn't 'historically accurate' ... it's a fairytale, it's a myth and it's ripe for a re-imagining," she said. "Extremely appreciative of the love I feel from those defending me online, but please don’t tag me in the nonsensical discourse about my casting," she said.
