The website was restored late evening yesterday
Yesterday, we reported that the Malaysian Immigration Department got hacked which turned out to be true. The department just released an announcement a few hours regarding the incident.
According to the statement, the official website got hacked at 2 AM yesterday by"CaptainSmok3r". If you missed it, Googling the website would show the hacked message but despite that, the department assured that the data within there were not affected nor leaked out. With that, the website underwent a long"maintenance" to clean up the mess.
On top of that, the Department's Information Technology Division has held discussions and collaborations with NACSA and CyberSecurity to help them with website-strengthening actions. The website was restored and accessible to the public again shortly last evening.
