The Intruder may be karmic payback for Dennis Quaid via nparts
In The Intruder, Dennis Quaid stars as Charlie Peck, a creepy old man with a rural mansion for sale in the Napa Valley. He’s a motivated seller, though you’ll notice I didn’t say what his motivation was.
That is, until the couple take possession. In the movies, a new house can either bring time-travel and true love or a haunting. Their Napa manor is the second type, with the twist that the ghost is Charlie, though he’s still very much alive. Director Deon Taylor injects very few thrills into this thriller, with Charlie popping up pretty much every time you expect him. I scare easily watching this genre, but with The Intruder I was looking at my wrist – not to see how much time was left, but to test whether you can really set your watch by a movie with such predictable timing. Turns out you can.
