A Honda executive raised the idea of a full-size SUV collab at CES 2025

We read your reactions on our coverage of the potential Honda - Nissan merger, and chuckled at every single “ Honda Civic Type Z,” and “ Nissan CR-XTrail” comment. These have all been funny, outrageous, and have started some interesting conversations at the office.

But we might be entering the realm of the possibility in the near future as Honda Motor Company executive vice president Noriya Kaihara brought up the idea of Honda and Nissan collaborating on a full-size SUV.

Kaihara did mention that swapping logos and borrowing cars would only be a temporary solution, and something to relieve the short-term demand. Honda is slated to debut its futuristic EV lineup in 2026, along with a brand-new operating system titled ASIMO OS.
