When the first Apple Watch hit the market in 2015, only a few would assume that it would be a great hit. Fast forward almost 9 years later, Apple has listed the first-gen Apple Watch as part of its “vintage” products. Today, the company confirmed that repairs for the original Apple Watch are discontinued.
For your information, the sales for the first Apple Watch were discontinued a few years ago. According to Apple, products that have not been distributed for more than 7 years are considered obsolete. Hence, it is only logical the company stopped all repairs for it. Besides the MacBook batteries, Apple has stopped providing repairs for all obsolete products. This is due to the absence of spare parts for it. That includes the infamous $17000 gold Apple Watch.
We are unsure how Apple fans in Malaysia feel about this. Some fans understand why the repairs for it have stopped. Some are upset the first gen didn’t last as long. But at the end of the day, an out-of-date tech and OS can only carry it so far. What are your thoughts on this news? Stay tuned for more information and updates like this at TechNave!
