The Crown has blurred the lines between “historical accuracy and crude sensationalism” in its fifth season, claims esteemed British actress Judi Dench, who is calling for the show to carry a disclaimer about its 'fictionalised account of events'.
In a scathing open letter to The Times on Thursday, Dench raised concerns the show would present an “inaccurate and hurtful account of history” to viewers who may take the show as being “wholly true”.
The actress called on the popular Netflix hit to carry a disclaimer at the start of each episode making viewers aware it is a fictionalised drama.
