On this episode of the Construction Record Podcast digital media editor Warren Frey speaks with Blue Branch CEO Todd Clyde, who is working to increase awareness of “supercommuting” to help with both housing affordability and an ongoing labour crisis.
He added by having more workers available to build housing could help both create more supply and bring workers into new areas where they may settle and further contribute to the community. Clyde said supercommuting adapts the “fly in-fly out” strategy used in the oil and gas and mining industries but adapts it to more areas of the construction industry and could benefit rural projects that struggle to find workers.
