Toronto trailed 1-0 after the first half but then charged ahead 2-1 with seven minutes to go before DC United tied the match in the 90th minute and then won it with a goal by second-year midfielder Theodore Ku-Dipietro eight minutes into added time, his first MLS goal. Federico Bernardeschi, on a penalty kick, and Mark-Anthony Kaye, his first for TFC, scored for Toronto.
