Protests planned outside courthouse after Trump-appointed judge tried to keep hearing secret from the public
Outside, Women’s March organizers invited demonstrators to dress as judges and kangaroos for a “Kangaroo Court” protest, in reference to Kacsmaryk’s attempt to keep the hearing secret by not publicizing it in advance on the court’s docket. Anonymous sources leaked the news to theand it was eventually formally announced on Monday evening. A decision could come as soon as Wednesday.
That delay in public notice “really has had a chilling effect on our ability to exercise our right to peaceful protest”, said Rachel O’Leary Carmona, executive director of the Women’s March.
