Looks like the wait is finally over. Today, Tesla Malaysia released the new Tesla Model 3 Performance nationwide. That said, what should you know about it?
For your information, the Tesla Model 3 Performance was launched before Tesla's latest financial report was announced. It is based on the new Model 3 but enhanced with dual motors offering more than 500 horsepower. This allows the Model 3 Performance to accelerate from 0-100 kmh in just 3.1 seconds. In addition to a more powerful electric motor, this model comes with a sleeker body kit in the front and rear. The brake system is improved with larger callipers to allow greater braking power for the vehicle. Since it is a performance-oriented vehicle, the Model 3 Performance only has an estimated travel distance of 528 km WLTP. That is better than the 513 km WLTP for the Standard Model 3. However, it is still lower than the 629 km WLTP for the Model 3 Long Range.
As expected, the Enhanced Autopilot which unlocks extra features such as navigating on autopilot and auto lane change should cost you RM16000. On the other hand, the Full Self-Driving capability option will cost you RM32000. Interestingly, most of these features are still non-operational in Malaysia.
If you are interested, the prices start at RM242000 and rise to RM285000 for models with FSD and the most premium colour options.
