The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority said this is to accommodate more outbound Overseas Filipino Workers .
TESDA Region III inaugurated the Domestic Work Assessment Center in Concepcion Vocational School in Tarlac and in the Provincial Training Center in Calumpit, Bulacan on May 31 and June 1 respectively.
In a statement on Wednesday, June 9, TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña said these new assessment centers can now accommodate the applicants in their respective provinces and they will no longer need to go to other provinces just to undergo competency assessment. Lapeña also acknowledged that setting-up additional assessment centers under the management of the regional offices will more likely expedite the process of assessment and certification.
Earlier, Lapeña urged outbound OFWs in the province to undergo competency assessment on Domestic Work NC II at the nearest assessment center in their area to avoid overcrowding in NCR.
