Terengganu cops receive 5 reports on fraudulent umrah packages
Terengganu police have received five reports of fraudulent haj and umrah packages sold by two companies with losses exceeding RM200,000 this year. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 3, 2023.
State police chief Rohaimi Md Isa said four reports were received yesterday involving a company in Kuala Terengganu, while one report was lodged today against a travel agency in Alor Setar, Kedah.“We have received five reports on fraudulent umrah packages so far this year, involving losses of more than RM200,000, compared to only two cases last year with a total loss of RM120,000,” he told a press conference at the Terengganu police contingent headquarters today.
