'We are so fortunate to have such a remarkable community partner to help us build upon this vision': Funding to go toward equipment, materials and infrastructure updates
The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board’s STEAM Lab — located at Holy Angels Learning Centre — just received a $250,000 boost thanks to a donation from Tenaris.
“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the significant support we have received from Tenaris,” said the board's outgoing director of education, Danny Viotto, in a news release issued today. “This substantial donation will not only enable us to continue offering our students dynamic, science-related experiences but also significantly enhance their real-world connection as it pertains to STEAM. We are so fortunate to have such a remarkable community partner to help us build upon this vision.
The STEAM Lab, housed at the Holy Angels Learning Centre, is a unique space that offers students of different grade levels the opportunity to explore career options in STEAM education. It provides hands-on experiences, where students can explore the interconnections between science and technology. The investment from Tenaris will be directed towards equipment, materials and infrastructure updates. These include painting the building's exterior, installing a ramp to enhance accessibility, and hiring an additional support staff for a full school year.
