Police today arrested a foreign national, suspected to have impersonated as a police officer, to extort and rob foreign workers in the Southwest district, here.
Police were informed by a recently arrived Myanmar worker who had encountered the teenager posing as a police officer, demanding the victim’s passport during an incident in Bayan Baru. He said based on investigations, the teenager was involved in at least three cases of impersonating a police officer and extorting victims, two cases in the Southwest district and one case in the Northeast district.
