A 16-year-old girl has died in hospital following the collision between a car and a ute at the weekend. 7NEWS

One of the passengers, a 16-year-old girl, was taken to Albury Base Hospital in a critical condition.Another passenger, a 20-year-old woman, was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, in a critical condition.

The driver of the car, a 44-year-old man, and a 19-year-old passenger were taken to Albury Base Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the ute, a 45-year-old man, was taken to Albury Base Hospital with minor injuries and was later arrested and charged with a string of offences.

These included: dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous , cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle, negligent driving and not keep left of dividing line-not class B/C vehicle. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Albury Local Court on Wednesday and his driver’s licence was suspended.
