A popular chess club from New York City has launched its first overseas branch in Singapore. Jon Sieber, CEO and founder of Chess at Three, shares how its storytelling-led curriculum is tailored for an exceptionally young clientele, and how it plans to build greater interest in the game here and in the region.

Mr Poh Wei Beng is one of eight recipients of this year's President's Award for Teachers. Mr Poh, who is HOD , St. Gabriel’s Secondary School, introduced the Gabrielite Gentlemen Primer — a fortnightly series of mini lessons which illustrate what it takes to be a gentleman. We find out how this programme has resulted in a drop in late-comers and an increased attentiveness to personal grooming.

Trifecta is located next to Somerset Skate Park on Orchard Road and opens end-Oct.Melanie Oliveiro speaks with Steve Lawler, co-founder of Eyeyah!, a creative platform for children, using creativity to inspire social change. Lawler will discuss the Eyeyah! magazine which teaches kids about social media and the internet, visits to schools, and past events and pop-ups like Giffest 2023 and the Anxiety pop-up.
