The Taoiseach has taken part in a Remembrance Day ceremony in Enniskillen in Co Fermanagh.

Today marks the 36th anniversary of the IRA's bombing of the Royal British Legion event in the town, in which 12 people were killed.

Leo Varadkar laid a green laurel wreath at the war memorial in Enniskillen this morning, continuing a tradition started by his predecessor Enda Kenny 13 years ago. Northern Secretary Chris Heaton-Harris and recently appointed PSNI Chief Constable Jon Boutcher also laid wreaths, alongside representatives of the British army, air force and navy.

A two-minute silence was observed for all those killed in wars, and the 12 people killed in the IRA bomb attack in the town in 1987 were also remembered.Wreath-laying services were held in cities and towns across Northern Ireland.
