PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei are not slowing down.
In fact the duo want to step on the gas even more after receiving the surprise call to be part of the Road to Gold programme for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
They are eyeing to come good in their sixth back-to-back tournament in the Taiwan Open starting today in Taipei.“It’s an extra motivation for us to do well but we need to focus 100 per cent,” said Ee Wei. While many would have fizzled out after a long stretch of tournaments but Ee Wei-Tang Jie are still bursting with energy and want to justify their spot in RTG.
“We’ll continue fighting for our country, coaches and ourselves. The most important thing is we need to be consistent and have good communication on court.“We need to be mentally well prepared as there are no easy matches.”
