By disclosing only P200 billion out of P297.35 billion in actual earnings annually, casinos operating in the country could have been shortchanging government in the amount of taxes they pay.

ACT-CIS Party-list Representative Nina Taduran recently aired this concern as she urged the House Committee on games and amusements to conduct a congressional inquiry into the compliance of integrated resorts and other casinos operating in the country with their legal obligation to pay the correct taxes.

Credit Suisse, an investment bank, projected earnings of $6 billion from these casinos in 2018, although per a report of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation , their earnings only amounted to ₱200 billion.The neophyte solon disclosed that her office has received reports of the misdeclaration of revenues filed by certain integrated resorts and casinos, resulting in lower gaming tax remittances to government.
