Wilson had a large, necrotizing wound on his chest, and that was just the beginning of his veterinary odyssey
Activate your Online Access NowStaff noticed a “horrible smell” and saw that Wilson had an open, circular wound on his chest. He was rushed to a local veterinarian for emergency surgery.
Wilson, a senior tabby cat, is receiving veterinary care at the East Kootenay branch of the B.C. SPCA after being found nearly frozen and with a serious wound on a logging road in the Cranbrook area. And that was just the beginning of Wilson’s health problems. While he was recovering at a foster home, there was a problem with the incision in his stomach, and a vet spotted a new lesion on his leg during a follow-up exam.
Wilson continues to receive medical care at the animal centre, including daily wound cleaning and bandage changes. But the tough old tabby remains upbeat.Article content
