NSW Police have issued new orders to ride operators and banned certain individuals from attending Sydney's Royal Easter Show following the stabbing death of a teen at last year's event.
Ride operators will be banned from playing rap music and attendees showing"anti-social" behaviour will be thrown out of the Sydney Royal Easter Show as authorities crack down following the stabbing death of a teen at last year's annual event.
It's expected more PSOs will be handed out during the event to ensure certain individuals do not return to the show set up at Sydney's Olympic Park. "Community safety is our number one priority - and with that in mind - police will be out in number at the show," he told"The message is simple: anyone looking for trouble is not welcome and will be dealt with accordingly."
"Following the incident last year we did a detailed security risk analysis. We have been working with NSW Police for months on this and the outcome is a fairly detailed and sophisticated plan," he said, adding all ride operators agreed with the changes. It's the first time PSOs have been issued since they were last handed out to alleged members of the Alameddine and Hamzy families in October 2020.
