Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek has confirmed that Sydney had beaten rival bids from Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia to host the first Global Nature Positive Summit.
Sydney will host an inaugural global nature summit in October 2024 that will bring together environment minsters and business representatives from across the world, after the harbour city beat rival bids from Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.
Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek has confirmed Sydney will host the inaugural Global Nature Positive Summit in 2024.“Turning the tide like this, from nature destruction to nature repair, will require a mighty global effort. We need government leading way, but we also need the private sector, environmentalists and First Nations groups all pulling in the same direction,” Plibersek, the MP for Sydney, said.
