KOMPAS/AYU PRATIWIJAKARTA, KOMPAS - DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency has spoken up about the issue of the increase in Royaltrans service rates or premium services from PT Transportasi Jakarta that has been circulating on social media. It is confirmed that the plan to increase the premium tariff has been postponed.
The issue of increasing premium service rates is being widely discussed both on social media and in chat groups based on applications. An internal letter dated August 21, 2023, about the notification of changes in Royaltrans service rates, which circulated, contained planned tariff increases that will take effect from August 28, 2023. The current Royaltrans rate of Rp 20,000 per person per trip is planned to increase to Rp 30,000 and Rp 40,000.
As a premium service, the Royaltrans service fee is not subsidized like the regular BRT and non-BRT Transjakarta services which cost IDR 3,500 per person. Because it is not a subsidized fee, the amount of the fee follows the market price. The market price is understood as the economical fee when it is still profitable for a business to run its service.
