Deputy Liberal Leader Sussan Ley says Stage 3 tax cuts are “owed to the Australian people” amid speculation Labor could backflip on its election promise.
“These were tax cuts that were promised to the Australian people, they are owed to the Australian people and they are expected by the Australian people,” Ms Ley told Sky News Australia. “They are legislated, they are in law – and already we’re seeing Labor breaking another promise walking away.

Mr Clennell said the then shadow cabinet then took the stage three tax cuts – which would eliminate the 37 per cent tax bracket and allow those earning between $140,000 to $200,000 to pay 30 per cent tax – to the election. “You can see the stakes here if the government dumps these – they won’t dump them, but if they amend them,” he said. “It could happen as early as this October budget from what we saw earlier.”
