“Right now we’re reaching out to the community with mental health services and trying to help the families as best we can, and trying to make sense of what is an absolutely senseless act,” Dave Pine, chair of the San Mateo county board of supervisors, told NPR’s Morning Edition on Tuesday.
Corpus told a Monday night press conference that the suspect was a mushroom farm worker who acted alone, and there was no further threat to the community.“It was in the afternoon when kids were out of school. For kids to witness this, it’s unspeakable,” she said. “For the second time in recent days, California communities are mourning the loss of loved ones in a senseless act of gun violence,” the president said.
