Opposition Leader Peter Dutton says the Coalition will seek to block any changes to superannuation as the government looks to legislate the purpose of retirement funds andAsked if a future Coalition government would wind back any changes, Dutton told the Nine Network’sthe opposition would work to block them in parliament because it represented a broken promise. Before the election, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said there were no plans to change the superannuation system.
In an address to the National Press Club on Wednesday, the PM said there would be no significant changes in the May budget. “ saying, you know, ‘Look, we don’t have any intention now, won’t be any major changes, at least, that’s not our intention’. That’s just double-talk for taxes coming in the budget,” Dutton said.
