Sunrise sports presenter Mark Beretta and his wife Rachel have separated after 22 years of marriage. The pair married in 2001 after meeting in 1999. In a statement on Saturday, Mark confirmed an amicable split and said their teenage children, Ava and Dan, were their priority moving forward. “At the start of the year, after a great deal of reflection and 22 years of marriage, Rach and I came to the conclusion that a separation was best for us,” Mark said in the statement via a Seven spokesperson.
” Mark has been a broadcaster with Seven for more than two decades and, over the span of his television career, has covered almost every major international event in sports journalism. He received a Medal of the Order of Australia at a special ceremony in Sydney last year for his service to the community through charitable organisations. While Mark has described his job on Sunrise as a “rare gift”, he has also said he missed many mornings with his family as a result.
