Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals were ranked No. 11 in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League top-20 rankings announced Sept. 26., are the top-ranked team from the Maritime Junior Hockey League . The MHL’s Miramichi Timberwolves are ranked 12th and the Truro Bearcats are at No. 20.The Capitals are scheduled to visit the Grand Falls Rapids on Sept. 30 and the Fredericton Red Wings on Oct. 1.
The Caps’ home opener is against Fredericton at the Island Petroleum Energy Centre on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. The Caps opened the regular season with road wins of 6-4 and 4-3 over the South Shore Lumberjacks on Sept. 16 and the Yarmouth Mariners on Sept. 17. The Caps’ game at Miramichi on Sept. 24 was postponed due to post-tropical storm Fiona.
