Sufficient nurses in public healthcare system, says Zaliha FMTNews

Last year, a Johor executive councillor said the state needs at least 15,000 nurses to plug its existing shortage.

“We will have to reallocate them accordingly,” she said at the annual healthcare conference of the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia here today. Meanwhile, APHM president Dr Kuljit Singh said a survey of 103 private hospitals in November found that these healthcare facilities would need more than 9,000 additional nurses over the next two years.
