Josée Seguin is no stranger to medalling at Special Olympics competitions. Gold, silver, bronze … she’s won them all.
She has won three gold at the National Summer Games, as well as being the top lifter in Canada. She won gold, silver and bronze at the 2014 National Games in Vancouver and placed first at the Provincial Games in Guelph and brought home top female lifter in Ontario. Seguin said she can currently squat 220 pounds. Her bench press is up to 137 pounds and her deadlift is as much as 308 pounds.
This year, the Special Olympics Flame of Hope was lit on June 7 in Athens, Greece. From there, it travelled through Germany to arrive at the opening ceremony in Berlin on June 17.
