Decisive win by visiting Sudbury Cubs was described by some observers as a chippy affair with the hometown Beavers
The Greater Sudbury Cubs of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League west division enjoyed a convincing win over the Blind River Beavers Saturday by winning a 5-1 battle at the Blind River Community Centre.
Pierson Sobush began the scoring with a high shot that got behind Beavers goaltender Gavin Disano. A second goal came from Sudbury's Miguel Renaud. It was his fourth goal this season. Then another Cubs goal was scored by Nicholas Toffoli on a rebound. The score was 3-0 for Sudbury heading into the second period. That also saw a goaltending change for the Beavers as Charlie Burns entered in place of Disano.
At this point, with Blind River down by four goals, Joshua Thompson scored on a backhand for the hometown Beavers.
