Canadians also report “tip creep” — where establishments that may not have prompted for a tip have added the ask to digital payment machines.The institute says Canadians are tiring of this. Four in five people feel say too many places are asking for tips and don’t believe service has improved. There is a significant increase in the number of people who say they prefer a “service included” model, where there would be no tipping and employees would get higher wages..Fifty-eight per cent of those who worked in the tipping industry say they would support a move to a “service included” model.Atlantic Canadians are least likely to say they’re being prompted for an increased tip.
