Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Minister Yeo Bee Yin said the study would be conducted by a special committee led by legal and environmental experts. “Based on the consultation, a study will be conducted first to determine the impact and the direction of the proposed legislation,” she said when winding up debate on the Supply Bill 2020 for the ministry in the house.

Meanwhile, Yeo said RM3 million had been allocated to enhance the research and development and technology as well as to develop the effective methods to prevent fires on peat soil.
