A new Fraser Institute poll found 42% of Canadians are in favour of socialism but few want to foot the bill for it.

Only 25% of Canadians defined socialism traditionally, as in government owning and controlling businesses and industries, while 57% think socialism is government providing a guaranteed minimum income. “A whole segment of the population — not just in Canada but across the developed world — self-describes as socialist, but many of them have never lived in a world with genuine socialism nor the misery it imposed,” Jason Clemens, co-author of the study, said in a statement.Article content
