JOHOR BARU: Medical services in Johor will run as usual despite the strike threat by the Mogok Doktor Malaysia movement, says state health director Datuk Dr Aman Rabu.

He said the department has yet to receive any sudden leave application from its contract medical officers for dates when the strike is expected to take place, which is from today until April 5.

“We give our assurance that services in Johor’s medical facilities will run as usual,” he said when asked to comment on the Mogok Doktor Malaysia group. Mogok Doktor Malaysia’s strike, which is to run from today until April 5, will see doctors taking emergency or medical leave for the three-day period as a sign of protest.Meanwhile, Johor health and unity committee chairman Ling Tian Soon, who attended the same event, said there is still room for discussion between contract doctors and the Health Ministry.
