States to work on ‘strengthening’ renters’ rights: AlbanesePrime Minister Anthony Albanese says state and territory governments will work on “strengthening” renters’ rights in Australia which will include looking at the frequency of rent price increases. “In at least one jurisdiction’s case, it’s also over the amount that can occur of any increase,” Mr Albanese said in a media conference on Friday. “You will have that exchange and housing ministers working together over coming months.”
