Johor has recorded a total of 28 dengue-related deaths from January until Aug 15 this year.
Johor health and environment committee chairman R. Vidyananthan said the state had recorded a total of 7,409 dengue cases during the same period, which is the third highest number of cases in the country.“The state government will conduct a massive, repetitive, intensive and persistent approach in eradicating this virus to prevent it from escalating any further.
He said this during a speech at the Johor Perangi Denggi campaign launched by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad at Dewan Taman Mawar in Johor Baru. “We have devised six programmes to mobilise the public, local authorities, non-government agencies and all other relevant bodies to conduct a mass search-and-destroy exercise,” he added.
