JOHOR BARU: Seat negotiations ahead of the six state elections will be a real test for the unity government, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The MCA president said that seat negotiations should reflect on the true spirit of the unity government, which is a grand coalition with many parties under its umbrella."For now, I have yet to receive any signals on seat negotiations from Barisan Nasional or the coalition as a whole.
He was asked to comment on Pakatan Harapan secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail's statement on the polls. "At times like this, no one has any target . The situation is different compared with previously as there are no longer traditional seats in the allocation,” said Dr Wee. He added that the party is ready to wait for the negotiations to take place ahead of the state elections.
"It is not something that is abnormal. Any individual that is put behind bars has the right to seek a royal pardon from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
