State polls: Pakatan's Amirudin claims victory in Sungai Tua

Amirudin polled 19,678 votes in unofficial results in the state polls.

Amirudin, who is also Selangor caretaker Mentri Besar, trounced his closest challenger Hanif Jamaluddin , with over 5,185-vote majority.The result was relayed to the media at Kompleks Islam Daerah Gombak, Selayang on Saturday .In a statement on Twitter, Amirudin thanked his supporters and pledged to continue his service to the people.

"I express a million thanks to Sungai Tua voters. I will give my full commitment to my service," he wrote. Amirudin, 44, who is also Selangor Pakatan chairman, has held the seat since the 12th General Election .
