TTC finally rolls out open payment for transit fares, more than a decade after it was first promised.
Starting Tuesday, TTC riders will finally be able to tap and pay for their fares on the subway, streetcars or buses using a debit or credit card, including on a smartphone or smartwatch.
The move — which catches Toronto up to other transit systems across Ontario and the world — comes more than a decade after Metrolinx first pledged to use the Presto system to enable open payment. × Already a Subscriber?
