Julian Howsare, 30, brings with him a lovely resumé as a steady d\u002Dlineman for the Hamilton Tiger\u002DCats over the last four seasons.
“Julian is a hard-nosed and versatile player,” said Stampeders GM/head coach Dave Dickenson, who signed the 2022 CFL East Division all-star to a one-year pact. “He’s always played very well against us, and we’re happy to bring him to the Red & White.”
The 30-year-old product of Altoona, Penn., has played 62 career regular-season games, posting 112 defensive tackles, five special-teams tackles, 21 sacks, three knockdowns, one forced fumble and two interceptions. His stellar campaign last year saw him share the Ticats lead in sacks with seven, while posting 30 defensive tackles, one special-teams stop, two picks and one knockdown.
Dickenson is certainly smitten with the signing of Howsare, saying that “with the addition of Julian and James Vaughters and the return of our veterans , our defensive line has the potential to cause problems for the opposition.”Article contentStill, it wasn’t the V-day hoped by many fans and even Dickenson himself, who was also hoping to re-up Thurman.
