The Calgary Stampeders defense allows two points against the Toronto Argos in a dominant win

“It was a slugfest, it was physical,” Stampeders head coach Dave Dickenson said. “Our guys just kept playing, kept playing and I thought for the most part won the line of scrimmage and then our playmakers stepped up at the end.”

Only a week ago, the Stampeders D kept the B.C. Lions out of the endzone until garbage time in Vancouver. For two straight games now, the Stampeders defence hasn’t allowed a meaningful touchdown. There may have been moments this season where the defence has given up more than they would have liked, but they appear to be peaking at the right time.Advertisement 5On the other side of the ball, the Stamps got the job done without necessarily blowing the doors off McMahon Stadium.

Reggie Begelton had two big catches deep in Argos territory, one for the Stamps’ opening touchdown and another that set up a Tommy Stevens short yardage run into the endzone.Article content
