The overnight temperatures of 16 degrees to 17 degrees are about five to six degrees above the monthly average.
Residents of Brisbane shivered through single-digit nightly temperatures just a few weeks ago, but this week are enjoying record-warm nights.
The city of 2.3 million people hasn't recorded such temperatures in early August since records began in 1887. Meanwhile, the daylight temperatures in Brisbane are forecast to remain at 20 degrees today as thick cloud and rain remains over the city. The welcome warmer conditions are also being enjoyed in other parts of Australia after the bitter cold of last month.
